As part of our efforts to keep everyone up-to-date on the development at Silk Hope, we will be posting updates every other week with the latest information and photos. Two homes are under construction; the first one is expected to be completed in October, and the second home is expected to be completed in January.
Work continues on the plumbing, electrical, and HVAC rough-ins. Work has started on the exterior trim package. The roofing material has also arrived, and we will be seeking approval from the ARB on the mock up. The masonry has arrived on site; we will begin masonry in approximately 2–3 weeks after the exterior trim is completed around the windows and doors. The cabinets are in production and we are laying out the interior trim package.
The first floor framing is nearly complete; the second floor material package has arrived, and we will begin framing the second floor this week. This sequencing should set up nicely for the electrical, mechanical, and plumbing subcontractors to move into this house once they are done with SH47. We expect to confirm the window order this week and start on cabinet shop drawings.
The entire site was re-hydroseeded last week; erosion control barriers were erected over the rear entrance and that area was hydroseeded for grass.
The planter boxes are complete, and all the posts have been set around the perimeter. The posts for the barn have been set, and the floor has been poured and prepped for brick. The lining has been installed in all the boxes. We will lay out the well location this week to get started later this week or the first of next week.
